The Daily Item reports a Sunbury man has been sentenced to serve up to 17 years in state prison on child sex abuse charges. 46-year-old Michael Bishop was sentenced on Wednesday in Northumberland County Court. The newspaper reports Bishop was accused of sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s daughter, who was 11, in 2019 and 2020. The victim testified against Bishop at the trial, along with the victim’s mother.
