HERNDON — A 21-year-old Middleburg man was killed early when his vehicle hit a tree in Jordan Township, Northumberland County. State Police say Bryce Shaffer died in the crash on Hooflander Road shortly before 6 a.m.
Investigators say a brief rainstorm had dampened the roadway before Shaffer entered a curve. Police say he went off the road and hit a tree. Shaffer was not wearing a seat belt. Volunteer crews from Pillow, Klingerstown and Gratz assisted, along with Americus EMS and Area Services EMS. Shaffer was a Selinsgrove High School graduate.
