MAHONING TOWNSHIP — A coroner says his investigation into a death in Mahoning Township is being hindered by Geisinger’s failure to comply with subpoenas. The Montour County Coroner’s Office says the records are needed to determine the cause and manner of death.
Officials say 31-year-old Anthony Fisher of the Dushore area was admitted to Geisinger Behavioral Health Center Wednesday. The coroner says a 911 call reported a cardiac arrest around 10:15am Thursday. No word from Geisinger yet on the death investigation or the coroner’s subpoenas.
After responding, the coroner’s office says Fisher appeared to have been dead for four to six hours before 911 was called. An autopsy was performed Friday, but officials have not announced a cause or manner of death. The coroner’s office and Mahoning Township Police are continuing the investigation.
