DANVILLE — Geisinger is warning of a possible measles exposure at its Danville hospital, as nearby Snyder County reports another case. Snyder County now has four cases, while Northumberland County remains at seven.
Geisinger says a person strongly suspected of having measles was on campus from 1 p.m. August 12 until 9 p.m. August 13. Possible exposure locations included both emergency departments, Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, the Atrium and Fluoroscopy.
Geisinger says anyone who was in those areas should monitor for symptoms and contact their doctor with concerns. The health system has also added screening precautions at facilities across its Central Region.
Pennsylvania now reports 296 measles cases, including 61 new cases in the past week. Fifty-two people have been hospitalized, and about one-third of cases involve people under 18.
