DANVILLE — A summer effort to make sure Danville children had enough to eat is wrapping up after serving thousands of meals.
Organizer Annie Yagle says the Danville Moose Lodge’s “From Schools Out to Schools In” program served between 80 and 100 children daily, over 3,200 children so far, and there are a few more days.
Yagle says numerous volunteers and many food donations helped make the program a success, with significant assistance from the Danville-Riverside Food Bank. She says it’s been a game changer in Danville and organizers learned plenty during their first summer and definitely plan to bring the program back next year.
The program ends () with a family barbecue, food and music at Washies Playground. Yagle says anyone interested in helping can contact the Danville Moose. More information is available at danvillemoose.com.
