DANVILLE — A $1.5 million state grant will extend natural gas service to Boyd Station in Northumberland County.
Local lawmakers announced the funding for the agricultural business in Rush Township, Northumberland County. The project will install about 9,000 feet of natural gas pipeline leading to the Boyd Station facility. The company currently relies on propane to operate the Rush Township location.
Officials say the pipeline project will help Boyd Station create 25 new jobs during the next three years. The agricultural business currently employs about 90 people at the facility.
Residents and other properties located along the new pipeline route may also gain access to natural gas service. The state funding comes through Pennsylvania’s Pipeline Investment Program.
