STATE COLLEGE — Strong thunderstorms are continuing to have a big impact this summer.
The National Weather Service says at least four tornadoes struck Pennsylvania during ’s severe storms. Tornadoes were reported in Clarion, Jefferson, Westmoreland and Clearfield counties.
Storm damage included fallen trees, flooded roads and wind gusts above 60 miles per hour. No injuries were reported. The Clearfield County tornado was rated EF-1, with peak winds of 110 miles per hour. Survey crews continue reviewing damage from the other storms.
More than 3,000 PPL customers remained without power evening. Outages continued in Cumberland, Dauphin, Northumberland and Perry counties. It’s been three weeks of strong weekend storms in our area, one of the storms left hundreds of PPL customers without electricity for a week.
