MECHANICSBURG — A big hike in water rates for parts of Central PA. The state PUC has approved a $75 million rate increase for Pennsylvania American Water. Increases will cost average residential rate payers between $3 and $13 more per month, depending on a wide range of factors.
The company says the money will support replacement of aging infrastructure, expanded PFAS treatment and continued removal of lead service lines. Pennsylvania American Water serves about 2.5 million people statewide, including customers across central Pennsylvania.
