The Daily Item reports Sunbury City council voted unanimously to sign an Immigration and Customs Enforcement program contract on Monday night. Sunbury now joins several other municipalities, including Milton and Shamokin, who are partnering with ICE officials. Selinsgrove voted against entering into that partnership earlier this month. The newspaper reports by joining the program, Sunbury police can assist in limited immigration enforcement in exchange for funding for new vehicles and equipment and other benefits.
