The Daily Item reports the Milton Borough Council voted to approve the police department’s participation in the 287(g) program through the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The newspaper reports it took Mayor Tom Aber’s “yes” vote to get to five “yes” votes needed. Some members of the public asked for the vote to be tabled so the public would have another opportunity to voice their opinion. However the vote moved forward and Milton police’s participation in the ICE program was approved.
