Join SBC Media Partners and 94KX as we officially kick off Celebrate Kids Month, a month-long community initiative dedicated to celebrating children, kindness, family fun, and positive community involvement throughout the Susquehanna Valley.
Families are invited to the Sunbury Community Pool for an evening filled with swimming, music, games, prizes, giveaways, and summer fun. This exciting event serves as the official launch of Celebrate Kids Month on 94KX and the starting point for the 50 Nifty Kids Contest.
The 50 Nifty Kids Contest
Children ages 5–12 can officially sign up during the pool party and learn how they can become one of the area’s honored 50 Nifty Kids.
Throughout the month of July, participants are encouraged to complete and submit acts of kindness and community service. Examples include:
- Helping neighbors
- Volunteering
- Supporting family members
- Collecting donations
- Helping animals
- Assisting at community events
- Making a positive difference in someone’s day
The first 50 children who successfully submit qualifying good deeds will receive an invitation to the exclusive 50 Nifty Kids Celebration Picnic at Knoebels Amusement Resort on from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the pavilion outside the Impulse ride. The celebration recognizes children for kindness, leadership, and community spirit while providing families with a memorable summer experience together.
Event Eligibility
- Children ages 5–12 are invited to attend with a parent or legal guardian.
- No drop-offs permitted. A parent or guardian must remain on-site for the entire event.
- Family members under age 5 may attend only when accompanying an eligible child ages 5–12.
- Individuals over age 12 may attend only as part of a family accompanying an eligible child.
Pool Safety Requirements
- All guests must follow lifeguard instructions at all times.
- Appropriate swimwear is required.
- No running or rough play anywhere in the pool area.
- Deep-water access may require a swim test.
- Only Coast Guard-approved flotation devices are permitted unless otherwise approved by pool staff.
Supervision & Conduct
- Parents and guardians are responsible for actively supervising the children they bring and must remain within sight of them at all times.
- Respectful behavior toward staff, volunteers, lifeguards, and other families is expected.
- No glass containers are permitted inside the facility.
- Personal belongings should be kept in designated areas. The pool is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Health & Facility Policies
- Anyone experiencing symptoms of illness should remain home.
- Standard pool lightning and thunder safety procedures will be followed in the event of inclement weather.
- Food and beverages must comply with Sunbury Community Pool policies.
Event Operations
- Check-in procedures may include sign-in and/or wristbands.
- SBC Media Partners and 94KX may photograph or record portions of the event for promotional purposes. Families may opt out during check-in.
- All guests must exit the facility promptly at 7:30 PM.
