SUNBURY — FEMA says two local flood mitigation projects are included in more than $23 million in pre-disaster funding for the Mid-Atlantic region. The Pennsylvania projects include $1 million for the Sunbury Municipal Authority. FEMA says the money would support a flood mitigation project in Sunbury.
The agency also lists $1.2 million for the Municipal Authority of the Town of Bloomsburg for wastewater treatment plant flood mitigation. The funding comes through FEMA’s Pre-Disaster Mitigation grant program. FEMA says communities must submit applications by 5pm before funding can be awarded.
