Shamokin Area students are getting an unexpected early start to summer break after an electrical issue at the district. Superintendent Chris Venna says all Shamokin Area schools will be closed because of a power outage. He says students will not need a make-up day.
Venna says more information will be sent for students who need to make up exams or retrieve belongings. Because was scheduled as the final day of school, the closure effectively ends the school year for students.
