SUNBURY — Sunbury veterans will lead the city’s 158th Memorial Day observance Monday, May 25. The parade begins at 8:30am at South Tenth Street and Raspberry Avenue. Organizers say the parade will move to Market Street, then continue to Cameron Park.
The Memorial Day ceremony begins at 9am at the Cameron Park gazebo. The guest speaker will be Craig Specht, an American history teacher in the Shikellamy School District. He also serves as Northumberland County representative for America250PA.
Meantime, in Northumberland, a Memorial Day service is scheduled in Riverview Cemetery next Monday. Organizers say speakers will address the crowd near the cemetery’s gold star marker. The parade will form at King Street Park at 10am and step off at 10:30am. The cemetery service is expected to begin at 11am.
