SUNBURY — Northumberland County court officials are warning residents about a reported email scam involving fake court notices. President Judge Paige Rosini says the messages falsely claim recipients missed court and face arrest if they fail to join a phone conference.
Court officials say Pennsylvania courts will never call, text, or email people demanding payments or participation in court proceedings by phone. Residents are urged not to click links or provide personal information and should report suspicious messages to police or the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection.
