HARRISBURG – If she becomes governor, the state’s treasurer says she won’t support easing the state’s marijuana laws. State treasurer Stacy Garrity, a republican candidate for governor in the primary, tells the Philadelphia Inquirer, she does not support legalizing the use of recreational marijuana.
She said she would veto any law that would expand pot use in PA. Pennsylvania does permit, regulate, and tax medical marijuana. Gov. Josh Shapiro, who is a democratic candidate in the primary, pitched legalizing marijuana in his budget address earlier this year, saying the tax revenue would be over $700 million.
