SHAMOKIN — In Shamokin, a man will spend life in prison after his murder conviction was upheld on appeal. The News Item reports 25-year-old Corey Quincy was convicted of killing 43-year-old Rhonda Pearce during a 2022 incident.
Court records say Quincy argued drug use impaired his intent, but the Superior Court rejected that claim. Judges say evidence did not support diminished capacity or provocation in the fatal stabbing.
Investigators say Quincy admitted to stabbing Pearce inside a South Vine Street home and did not call police. He was sentenced in 2024 to life in prison, along with additional concurrent sentences tied to the case.
