PITTSBURGH — A flight bound for New York was diverted to Pittsburgh after a reported onboard threat prompted an emergency response. Authorities say the plane landed safely at Pittsburgh International Airport around 11:45am Saturday.
The FAA says United Airlines Flight 2092 departed Chicago and was headed to LaGuardia when the crew reported a possible security issue. Allegheny County police say bomb technicians and K-9 units searched the aircraft, passengers, and luggage with no threats found.
FBI Pittsburgh says all passengers and crew evacuated safely, and the investigation is ongoing. Airport officials say operations continued without disruption, and passengers were rebooked to complete their trip.
