LEWISBURG — Bucknell students are tackling real community challenges through a hands-on business course with a decades-long legacy. University officials say Management 101 has students form social enterprises to support local nonprofits.
They say this semester’s projects address hunger, domestic violence, child poverty, first responder support, and youth development. Students partner with organizations including the Milton/Sunbury YMCA, Beyond Violence in Berwick, Milton Public Library, William Cameron Engine Company, and Selinsgrove REC.
Faculty say students design and sell products to fund their service work while gaining real-world leadership experience. They say the course builds skills in communication, teamwork, and responsible management early in students’ college careers.
