NORTHUMBERLAND — Something old and something new is on display this weekend.
The Joseph Priestley House Museum in Northumberland celebrates history with a free open house this Saturday. Organizers say the event marks the grand reopening after extensive interior renovations.
Then the Pennsylvania Charter Day open house is Sunday from 1pm to 4pm at the historic home on Priestley Avenue. Friends of the Joseph Priestley House say visitors can explore new paint, plaster, and restored window shutters.
The event also celebrates Pennsylvania Charter Day and the commonwealth’s 339th birthday. Organizers say the gathering also honors the birthday of scientist and theologian Joseph Priestley. More info at josephpriestleyhouse.org.
