SUNBURY — A struggling Sunbury woman calls the Here. For Good. campaign volunteers the “saviors of .” Thirty-five-year-old Kristen, a disabled mother of a 5-year-old, says one income cannot keep ahead of mounting bills.
She says the program will provide holiday meals and presents so her daughter can still enjoy a joyful morning. Kristen urges other struggling families to reach out, calling the volunteers wonderful and the help life-changing.
Organizers say Here. For Good. continues the Needy Family Fund, which has raised about $3.8 million since 1987. The $175,000 drive runs through Salvation Army citadels, with donations accepted at Central Penn Bank & Trust and hereforgoodcampaign.org. The Here. For Good. campaign is sponsored by the Daily Item, Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation and Central Penn Bank & Trust.
