SUNBURY — A long-running holiday campaign is underway as the Here. For Good effort opens its arms to Valley families in need. Organizers say the goal is $175,000, continuing a tradition that has raised more than $3.8 million since 1987.
The Salvation Army in Milton and Sunbury administers the program with support from The Daily Item, Sunbury Broadcasting and Central Penn Bank & Trust. Leaders say the effort reflects community generosity and rising requests for basic necessities.
