WASHINGTONVILLE — The Muskrat Blind at Montour Preserve has been rebuilt and reopened as an educational observatory on Lake Chillisquaque. Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper John Zaktansky says the project connects people to nature and inspires new environmental stewards.
The $60,000 project was led by the Vernal School Environmental Education Partnership and the Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association with MARC. The structure now rests on cement pillars, features new windows, and includes a wheelchair ramp for better accessibility and safety. More info at middlesusquehannariverkeeper.org
