CARLISLE — Three area organizations will receive 2025 Healing the Planet grants. The GIANT Company and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful made the announcement.
East Buffalo Township, the Lycoming Audubon Society, and Pottsville Area School District will share in the $119,022 awarded statewide. Organizers say the funding will support native tree planting projects across Pennsylvania. More than 4,000 trees will be planted.
The program has given over $1.3 million to 178 recipients since 2021. Officials say the goal is to connect communities with green spaces and protect water resources. Other efforts include reducing waste and restoring habitats.
