The Newspaper reports Commissioner Chairman Preston Boop said Tuesday he did not host an Aug. 13 concealed-carry seminar at the Government Center in Lewisburg, that included political talking points, campaigning and fundraising. Boop tells the newspaper he was asked to open the door and provide security for what he believed would be a firearms training meeting hosted by state Rep. Stephanie Borowicz.
Boop and Commissioner Jeff Reber voted July 7 to implement a new policy banning political parties from using the building for partisan activities. Commissioner Stacy Richards voted against it.
Boop told the newspaper he was taken by surprise and offended and wrote a letter to Borowicz and provided her with a written copy of the policy.
