HARRISBURG — Republican gubernatorial candidate Stacy Garrity is calling on Gov. Josh Shapiro to return millions in campaign contributions tied to data center interests. Garrity says Gov. Shapiro received about $5.7 million from donors connected to technology, construction, and development companies.
Her criticism follows Gov. Shapiro’s executive order this week imposing new requirements on data center projects. The order requires local approval, environmental safeguards, and protections against shifting electricity costs to other customers. (inquirer.com)
The Shapiro campaign responded that Garrity has supported what it calls unregulated data center development. Garrity has also previously called for a pause on new projects. More information is available at pa.gov.
