SHAMOKIN DAM — Shamokin Dam Borough lifted its water conservation request morning. Mayor Donald Musser says the restriction ended around 10 a.m. The borough had asked residents to limit water use after storm sediment overwhelmed its treatment system. The problem left the reservoir at a critically low level.
Mayor Musser thanked residents for reducing water use during the emergency. He says monitoring data showed the community made a clear conservation effort. The borough had already resumed producing safe water at a reduced rate night. Officials have now determined the conservation request is no longer necessary.
