BLOOMSBURG — Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg says its students were fantastic ambassadors when they showcased research and connected with professionals during the 2026 ASL Interpreter Conference. The Student Interpreter Club hosted the conference this spring.
Students base their projects largely on experiences from interpreting practicums. Their research examined educational interpreting and communicating information visually through American Sign Language. Junior Jillian Graham says early professional exposure helped students plan and host the conference.
Students also reconnected with classmates completing practicums across the East Coast. Graduate Maggie Tower says her cohort included 20 students working in different locations. Participants say interpreters must remain lifelong learners while adapting to new challenges.
