FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP — The Southern Columbia Area School Board has approved the Columbia-Montour Area Vocational Technical School’s $11.5 million budget. The News Item reports the 2026-27 spending plan passed unanimously after earlier concerns about the Vo-tech’s financial future.
The school board said the budget should act as a bridge while districts discuss future operations and funding. The budget includes a 4.9% spending increase. Six participating districts will contribute about $8.8 million, or 73% of the school’s annual income. The school is facing leadership, funding, and support challenges.
