HARRISBURG — State Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver says her bill to strengthen medical imaging standards in Pennsylvania has advanced to the full Senate. Senate Bill 1334 would create a state license for medical imaging professionals. She says it sets high standards, and calls for important training.
Sen. Culver says medical imaging, including MRIs and x-rays, is essential for diagnosing and treating many conditions. She says Pennsylvania is one of four states without a licensure or certification framework for those workers.
The bill was approved by the Senate Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure Committee. Sen. Culver says statewide standards would help patients know their care meets clear professional competency requirements.
