WASHINGTON — One local congressman is on board with a big housing initiative in the US.
US Congressman Dan Meuser says a housing bill passed by the House would increase housing supply and support community banks. He says he voted for the ‘21st Century ROAD to Housing Act.’
Cong. Meuser’s office says the bill passed the House 358 to 32 and is expected to be signed into law this week. The bill would modernize housing programs, reduce regulations, and give community banks more flexibility to finance construction.
He says the bill would also promote manufactured housing and speed some permitting. Cong. Meuser says it would ban large institutional investors from owning single-family homes to help families compete in the housing market.
