HARRISBURG — State representative and GOP leader Jesse Topper says State House Republicans advanced a bill Monday that would cut taxes on utility bills. Rep. Topper says House Bill 2224 would eliminate Pennsylvania’s nearly 6% gross receipts tax on utilities.
He says the proposal would cut taxes by $1.7 billion for Pennsylvania families. He says the goal is to lower household costs by removing a tax tied to basic utility services. Rep. Topper says affordability through tax elimination has been a key House Republican priority this session. The Pennsylvania House passed the bill unanimously.
