SUNBURY — A living history presentation in Sunbury this weekend will explore what frontier life looked like during the early days of the community in the 1770s. The Northumberland County Historical Society says Hope Webster Kopf will appear as Violet Laferty Crist during the free program.
The presentation is at 2pm at Priestly Chapel in Northumberland, organizers say she will focus on life between 1772 and 1777. That is the time when Sunbury was developing as a frontier settlement during the years leading to the American Revolution.
Through storytelling and historical interpretation, Webster Kopf will present challenges families faced while building new lives in the region. Organizers say updates will be posted on the historical society’s Facebook page.
