LEWISBURG — The Union County Veterans Fourth of July Gala Parade steps off Saturday, June 27, at 10am in Lewisburg.
Organizers say the rain-or-shine parade will honor more than 100 veterans and include more than 250 entries, marching bands, first responders and a planned C-47 flyover.
After the parade, North Shore Railroad will offer patriotic train rides from Hufnagle Park at 1:30pm and 3:30pm. The rides will travel from Lewisburg to Winfield and back, lasting about an hour.
The passenger train will be pulled by the railroad’s Veterans Unit locomotive and a semiquincentennial locomotive repainted for America’s 250th anniversary. Tickets are $25, with half of ticket sales going back to the celebration. More information is available at ucveterans4thofjuly.org.
