Kulpmont Home Destroyed By Two-Alarm Fire
KULPMONT — A home in Kulpmont was destroyed by a two-alarm fire evening. The News Item reports, firefighters were called around 7pm to 1351 Poplar Street, where flames had already consumed the rear of the home and a garage near Wood Street.
Kulpmont Fire Department Safety Officer Matt Siko says crews were told some occupants may still be inside. Firefighters entered the front of the home to search, while crews set up water lines around the property.
Two vehicles and a compact loader were destroyed, and part of the roof collapsed. Siko says a state fire marshal will investigate the cause. Fire companies from across Northumberland County responded.
