Long Delays Expected During Saturday Bridge Work
SUNBURY — Another road project in our region…PennDOT says weekend bridge work could slow drivers Saturday on Route 405 between Sunbury and Northumberland.
PennDOT says the work is during the day, crews will work from 7am to 5pm today on the Edison Bridge. Traffic has been backed up for miles with 30-minute waits earlier this week.
Flaggers will control single-lane traffic during preparation work for a new bridge-deck surface and more, long delays are expected. The project also includes repaving Front Street in Sunbury and Bridge Avenue on Island Park. Work, and delays, are expected to continue through November. A detour starts Monday.

Route 642 Detour Coming For Montour Project
DANVILLE — PennDOT says a major Montour County intersection project will bring more road work next week. PennDOT says crews will continue work the week of June 1 on the new Route 642 alignment. Crews will connect Jerseytown Road to the new alignment during daylight hours.
Beginning Monday, June 8, Jerseytown Road will close between Bogart Road and Mahoning Creek. PennDOT says drivers will use a detour on Columbia Hill Road and Meadowbrook Road. The $29.8 million project includes realigning and signalizing Routes 54 and 642. Work is expected to continue until fall 2029.
Route 15 Work Brings Overnight Lane Restrictions
SHAMOKIN DAM — PennDOT says Route 15 drivers should expect delays next week during some night paving in Snyder County. PennDOT says crews will begin paving Route 15 between the Route 11/15 split and the CSVT interchange. The work runs Sunday, May 31 through Thursday, June 4.
Drivers should expect alternating lane restrictions from 8pm to 6am. PennDOT says motorists should slow down, stay alert, and use caution through the work zone. This part of the project is expected to take about 2 weeks. The full $1.15 million microsurfacing project is expected to finish in July.
