SUNBURY — Most local Memorial Day observances are still expected to go on as planned Monday, but weather has changed plans in Sunbury and Northumberland. Organizers say rain in the forecast prompted both communities to move their ceremonies indoors.
In Sunbury, the American Legion Post 201 shared on their Facebook page, the Memorial Day parade has been canceled. The ceremony will be held at 9am inside American Legion Post 201 at 611 Market Street.
In Northumberland, American Legion Post 44 says its Memorial Day service has also been moved indoors. That service will be held at the post at 11am Monday.
