ELYSBURG — Knoebels’ new president says the park’s famously free admission will stay in place as it reaches 100 years. Spotlight PA reports Brian Knoebel says he had to “pinky swear” never to change that tradition. The park opened July 4, 1926, with a pool, restaurant, and rented carousel.
Spotlight PA reports Knoebels now has about 60 rides, 38 food stands, games, campgrounds, and a golf course. Knoebel says free admission helps grandparents and families enjoy the park without extra pressure. He says the park’s throwback feel remains central to its identity.
