DANVILLE — Talen Energy and the Montour Area Recreation Commission announced a new agreement supporting the future of the Montour Preserve.
Officials say the updated lease extends operations for 25 years, with the option to continue for up to 99 years.
MARC Director Bob Stoudt says the partnership helps protect and improve the Preserve for nearly 100,000 annual visitors. Talen says it will cover $180,000 in 2026 operating costs and fund several capital improvements, including trail, bridge, lighting, and spillway projects.
Officials also say they will explore long-term options for the Preserve, including the possibility of becoming a Pennsylvania state park. More information is available at Talen Energy and Montour Area Recreation Commission.
