MILTON — North Arch Street in Milton remains closed after part of the bell tower at the former St. John’s United Church of Christ collapsed afternoon. Borough officials tell the Standard-Journal they are working with PennDOT, PEMA, and other agencies to determine the next steps for the unstable structure.
Officials say the closure between Broadway and Walnut Street will remain until a plan is developed. The Standard-Journal reports 34 residents and eight staff members from neighboring Milton Developmental Services were evacuated night and are still staying elsewhere.
