LEWISBURG — Union County commissioners are directing $92,000 in opioid settlement money toward services for survivors of human trafficking and violence. The Standard-Journal reports Transitions of PA will use the funding for advocacy and workforce training tied to recovery support.
Commissioner Chairman Preston Boop says the money comes from nationwide opioid settlements secured from drug manufacturers. Officials say the county still has roughly $220,000 remaining in its opioid settlement fund for future projects.
