COAL TOWNSHIP — In Northumberland County, a former state prison employee is accused of inappropriate contact with a coworker inside SCI-Coal Township. The News Item reports 47-year-old Cory Swartz of Ashland faces charges tied to incidents in January and March.
State police say Swartz allegedly touched the woman inappropriately in a closet and in an office. Police say he also made explicit comments that were overheard by others in the facility.
Investigators say Swartz told them he was only aware of verbal allegations when questioned. Authorities charged him with two counts of indecent assault, and the case is now before a magisterial district judge.
