SHAMOKIN — The News Item reports a Paxinos man charged with sexual assault is also accused of attempting to purchase a firearm despite being a felon.
The newspaper reports 57-year-old Luis Angel Rivera Escobar attempted to purchase a firearm from Postage Plus on Dec. 2, 2024, though he is not permitted to do so because he was convicted felon. Escobar is also accused of sexually assaulting a woman in April. Charges were filed by state police.
