SUNBURY — Sunbury officials announced a new effort to clean up neighborhoods using community service workers. The city unveiled Operation Beautify Sunbury, assigning participants to cut grass, clean yards, and trim bushes.
City Clerk Jeffrey Wojciechowski said the program connected to a recent warrant sweep, giving individuals a way to resolve legal matters while serving the community. Services are offered at no cost to residents, aiming to boost pride and improve safety.
Wojciechowski credited Judge Wiest-Benner, Mayor Josh Brosious, and Administrative Assistant Robyn Garringer for helping launch the initiative. Officials said they expected the program to make a visible impact across the city.
