NORTHUMBERLAND — A longtime Northumberland church announced it will close its doors after decades of service to the community. Christ United Methodist Church, at King and Front Streets, said its final worship service will be held at 9am.
Church leaders said the small and aging congregation struggled to maintain the large building in recent years. They said the church would continue normal operations through while supporting the community during the transition.
On social media, the church says the Born Again Boutique would relocate to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church nearby, continuing its outreach mission. Leaders asked for prayers as the congregation prepared to close this chapter.
