HARRISBURG — Dry conditions are raising wildfire concerns across much of Pennsylvania.
The declaration of an ‘Elevated Wildfire Risk’ was issued by the National Weather Service, which says low humidity and gusty winds are increasing the risk of fire spread statewide.
PA Forestry officials say dry vegetation and breezy conditions can allow fires to ignite and grow quickly. They say even small sources, like brush burning or campfires, can become dangerous.
Officials urge residents to avoid outdoor burning and use caution with anything that could spark a fire. They also recommend properly disposing of smoking materials and monitoring local conditions.
