LEWISBURG — Lewisburg has again earned national recognition for its long-standing commitment to trees and sustainability. The Arbor Day Foundation has named the borough a “Tree City USA” for the 41st consecutive year.
Borough officials say the designation reflects ongoing tree care, funding, and public education efforts. Shade Tree Commission Chair Amy Levan says trees improve health, reduce flooding, and support wildlife.
The commission is planning a public tree planting at 3pm on April 24 at Meadow View Court. Officials say it will be 4th Ward’s first ceremonial planting. For more information, call 570-523-3614 or visit the borough office on South Fifth Street.
