WILLIAMSPORT — Penn College locked down its campus after a reported active shooter at Keystone Dining Hall. College officials say the phony call came in during the morning, triggering an immediate shelter-in-place order.
Officials say campus police and emergency responders quickly searched the area and found no threat. They say the incident was determined to be a “swatting” prank call, and the 911 recording is under investigation.
The shelter-in-place order was lifted once the campus was cleared. Officials say classes were cancelled for the day, but the campus remains open. College officials thank emergency responders and the community for their cooperation.
