Fire Destroys Home In Upper Augusta Township
UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP — A fire destroyed a home in Upper Augusta Township, Northumberland County, Friday afternoon. Fire officials say crews responded around noon to Mile Hill Road and found the structure engulfed in flames. Reports indicate two people and two dogs escaped safely with no injuries.
Tanker trucks from three counties converged on the scene. Volunteer firefighters say they used a defensive approach as flames spread quickly and the roof collapsed. The fire was brought under control within about an hour and remains under investigation.
