BLOOMSBURG — Commonwealth University has received a $60,000 grant aimed at helping students facing food insecurity. State education officials say the funding comes through the Governor’s Hunger Free Campus program.
University officials say the grant will support campus food pantries, food purchases, and facility upgrades. The funding will serve students at Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, Mansfield, and Clearfield campuses.
Officials say the program will also help provide hygiene items and reduce stigma surrounding food insecurity. Commonwealth University says the grant social work professors Tiffany Welch and Tulare Park developed the application.
